How it works
You never type anything secret. You point your phone, and your fingerprint and Face ID does the rest.
A site shows a one-time code. Open 1code ID and point your camera at it — that's the whole handshake.
Your phone asks for your fingerprint and Face ID. That's the only thing that can say yes — and only you have it.
The site lets you through. No password was typed, sent, or stored — so there's nothing to steal.
Why it's safer
Passwords fail because they're a shared secret. 1code ID replaces the secret with a key that physically lives on your phone and never travels.
There is no password anywhere — not in your head, not in a database. A phishing page has nothing to catch, and a breach has nothing to spill.
Your key is created inside your phone's secure hardware and can't be copied off it. Approving a sign-in proves you're holding your phone.
The browser only ever holds a one-time code and a snapshot of the login. A screenshot of that page is harmless — the proof happens on your phone alone.
